Sansan Palé, a young man from Burkina Faso who had a very close bond with Armando Grandi, whom he considered a father because of the support, help, and love he received during his childhood and also in his adult life, promoted the construction of a water well in Gogo, a village in northeastern Côte d’Ivoire, near the border with Burkina Faso.

This initiative was carried out on what would have been Armando’s 99th birthday, on January 15, 2026, in tribute to his memory and his philanthropic commitment. A gesture full of love, trust, and solidarity.
Water is life. Thanks to this well, at least 500 people, children and adults, from this small village near the town of Doropo now have access to drinking water, significantly improving their health and quality of life. It is also a relief for the women, who previously had to walk more than 5 km to fetch water, carrying 20-litre containers on their heads.
A commitment that continues: education and the future
Sansan Palé also chairs the Renato Sourires d’Enfants Burkina Association (ARSEB), thanks to which it has been possible to build a school complex in Burkina Faso that includes a primary school, a middle school, and a high school. This school complex provides education to 650 students.
Towards 100 years: a solidarity fundraising campaign
Next year, Armando would have turned 100. On this very special date—and remembering the vital importance that the engineer Armando Grandi always placed on access to water—we believe it would be a wonderful gesture to promote a fundraising campaign dedicated to financing new drinking-water wells.
100 years of kindness and altruism, 100,000 francs to give water to more than 100,000 people!
